Greenworks Tools

I was lucky enough to get the chance to do a set of assembly and instruction videos for the popular Greenworks tools line in 2023. I was tasked with creating the graphics and editing, setting the rubric for the rest of the videos and sorting through hoursand hours of footage to determine which angles and continuity would be best to convey how these machines were put together and operated. This was an incredibly fun project to be a part of, and I was responsible for the assembly of nearly all of the snowblower and lawnmower videos early on in this project.

The project would go on to be much larger than I alone could handle. With so many deliverables for maintenance, assembly, operation and storage videos we needed all the help we could get to stay ahead of schedule. I continued to assist with these videos until I was pulled off for the Dreamcatcher Awards Graphics.

What I Learned

This project taught me all about continuity. I had not made any sort of formal tutorial video before this except for on the RVERS. This project was massive in scale, and every time we thought we were done, they would release a new line of snowblower or lawnmower or hedge trimmer. Pouring through hours of footage to find the perfect angle or perfect timing was the major challenge. We found ourselves scrambling to keep up as more and more video files arrived, but once I templated the graphics to be more intuitive I felt confident handing it off to the other editors. This was also the first time that I had to leave a project before completion. This was frustrating, but even though I was kept busy with another project, I checked in frequently to see how things were going and if I could help.
